Why we built our own site first
A small studio with no case studies has a credibility problem. Rather than fake the proof, we made ourselves the first client and built it in the open.
A small studio with no case studies has a chicken-and-egg problem. Clients want proof before they hire you. But you can't show proof until someone hires you. The usual fix is to fabricate it — vague logos, borrowed stats, a testimonial from a friend. We're not doing that.
We made ourselves the first client
Instead of faking proof, we're building it. Every service we sell — a marketing site, email and hosting, an automation — we run on ourselves first, in the open, and document the whole thing. This site is the first result: a real Build project with a real brief, real constraints, and a real deadline.
That means when we tell you we ship fast, accessible sites served from a Johannesburg edge, we can point at one. You're reading it.
Why "build in public" beats a portfolio
A finished portfolio shows you the polished end. It hides the decisions — the trade-offs, the things we cut, the reason we chose boring tech over shiny tech. Those decisions are exactly what you're hiring us for.
So we're publishing the journal (the thinking) and the changelog (the shipping) as we go. You can judge how we work before you ever pay us a cent. For a studio asking you to trust it with the systems your business runs on, that openness is the most honest proof we can offer.
What's next
Each service we prove on ourselves becomes its own case study: the website you're on now, our own email and hosting on the same setup we'd sell you, and the automations that quietly run our enquiries. Follow along here — the work is the pitch.
