Privacy notice
Last updated
This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We keep it short and plain because privacy shouldn't need a lawyer to read.
Who we are
Digital Blast Media is a web, software and automation studio based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website.
What we collect
The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to send us through our contact form: your name, your email address, and the contents of your message. We don't run advertising trackers or build a marketing profile of you.
Why we collect it
We use the information you submit for one purpose: to read your enquiry and reply to it. That's the lawful basis under POPIA — processing necessary to respond to a request you initiated.
Who processes it
To run the contact form and host the site, we rely on a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare — hosts the website and provides the Turnstile check that screens out spam and bots.
- Resend — delivers your enquiry to our inbox by email.
These providers process your information only to provide their service to us. We never sell your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up, then delete them. If we don't end up working together, you can ask us to delete your message sooner.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to how we're using it;
- complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we've mishandled your information.
Contact us
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask a question about this notice, get in touch through our contact page and we'll respond within one business day.
