Work

Our own business is our first client.

We run every service on our own business first, document what we learn, and let the results speak for themselves. Client work appears here anonymised, with their permission — and we won't invent a result we haven't measured.

A chatbot with no running cost — and three options when you need more.

We built and deployed a chatbot on our own site before selling the service to clients. It runs at zero ongoing cost with no API keys and no risk of invented answers. That approach isn't right for every business — so this case study maps out the four options we build and how to choose between them.

Automate

One email every Monday. Last week's numbers, nothing else.

Before we sell automated reporting to anyone, we wired it up on ourselves. A Cloudflare Worker fires at 7 AM every Monday and delivers last week's site visits and contact enquiries straight to the inbox — no dashboard, no login, no extra subscription.

Operate

Keeping our own site healthy — uptime monitoring, backups, and what actually matters.

Care Lite is the monthly maintenance plan we sell to clients who don't want to think about their site going down. Before we sold it, we applied it to ourselves — and documented what the right setup looks like for a modern static site vs a traditional hosted one.

Operate

Zero-downtime DNS migration — our own domain, done right.

Operate

Business email that works — inbox, contact form, authentication, done.

Before we sell email setup to anyone, we ran it on ourselves. HostAfrica inbox for client conversations, Resend for the contact form, and the DNS authentication records that stop legitimate mail landing in spam. Set up once, running quietly ever since.

Build

We built FreightOps — a freight-operations SaaS.

FreightOps is a complete freight-operations platform we designed and built ourselves: a web dashboard for the office and an Android app for drivers, giving transport businesses live control of every load. It's the clearest proof of what Build means at the top end — real production software, not a brochure site.

Build

An order system a manufacturer runs their whole day on — built in ten weeks.

A Gauteng building-materials manufacturer was capturing orders on paper and in spreadsheets, then discovering mistakes at the loading gate. We built them a custom order management system: staff capture orders on a phone, every order gets a unique number the moment it's created, and nothing can be quietly altered afterwards.

We built this site. Here's exactly how.

Our first case study is the site you're reading. Before we sell a marketing site to anyone, we built our own — in the open, on the same stack we'd put your business on.
